Working for Going for Independence

GFI is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from all communities, older people and people with disabilities.

We are developing a network of self-employed people around the UK. Our Inclusive Art workshops are proving very popular and we may need to find people in the NE who can bring particular skills to work with us. Contact us for more information and if you are interested in being on our list of potential Artist Consultants. As we work with vulnerable people it will be necessary to have a DBS check for this work, which we can assist with.
For help with assessments for equipment we refer on to independent OTs so if you are an independent OT, being on an OT Directory will help to give you more exposure to work in your local area.

In addition, if you are interested in volunteering with us please get in touch. Email info@gingforindependence.org and put Volunteering in the subject line.

GFI can now process DBS (previously CRB) checks for GFI Association members - a solution for OTs and other Therapists in independent practice who need to have a current DBS check. Email info@goingforindependence.org for more information about membership of the Association.

Allied Health Professionals and Nurses

In addition to Occupational Therapists, OTAs and OT Techs, Going For Independence is interested in hearing from Allied Health Professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Art, Music or DramaTherapists, Physiotherapists, Health Visitors and Nurses.

Contact us at the GFI office if you would like to speak to us and for more information.
