About the GFI Directory
Experience has shown from our work over the last three years that there is a specific need for a new online Directory for Independent OTs ( and associated services) which is easy to access by the public and by businesses and professionals.
GFI receives enquiries about finding a therapist from all over the UK (from individuals, charities and businesses) and wherever possible we put people in touch with local Independent practitioners. However we often have difficulty sourcing independent OTs and those working outside the statutory sector - through existing channels.
GFI is an established and trusted organisation, a national social enterprise with ethical values and a history of working in the community. Our website has good links from national websites including Direct Gov, and high search engine ratings. Key organisations and professionals will use the Directory.
Accessed from our website, the new searchable and well-promoted Directory will be an additional resource and marketing opportunity for OTs, OTA’s, OT Students, OT Volunteers, and also for OT businesses and employment agencies.
It will also list Equipment Display and Demonstration Centres, Adaptations services and approved TCES prescription retailers for specialist equipment.
It will have different entry options available including:-
• A free standard entry with contact details
• An extended information option (costing only £30.00 annually) to enable you to showcase your services further and link to your website
• Advertisement space for related businesses
• OT Vacancies
The Volunteer option is for people who are interested in doing some voluntary work in their local community, working with charities or on National projects; this may lead to paid work. Students looking for potential work experience opportunities in the community can present information online as a supplement to their CV.
Remember – if people cannot find you they cannot refer work on to you!
